August 2026 : Alleima has recently announced an investment of approximately SEK 220 million to expand its production capacity and capabilities at its existing facility in Mehsana, India.

Building on an expansion completed in 2023, this next phase introduces local production of advanced tubes for the fertilizer industry alongside increased capacity for larger-dimension application tubing within the Chemical and Petrochemical segment. Additionally, the site will add capacity for precision tubes used in compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems, as well as critical hydraulic and instrumentation applications.

Highlighting the commercial strategy driving the project, Göran Björkman, President and CEO of Alleima, stated: “India's chemical and petrochemical markets are growing, and so is demand around natural gas. Operating in demanding industrial environments where corrosion resistance, operational reliability, and absolute safety are critical, Alleima’s upgraded facility is designed to shorten lead times for customers across the region while serving selected export markets.

The Chemical and Petrochemical segment remains a key pillar of Alleima’s profitable growth strategy. Headquartered in Sandviken, Sweden, the company relies on an integrated value chain and more than 900 active alloy recipes to supply seamless steel tubing and specialized heating solutions worldwide.

The new capacity at the Mehsana plant will be fully operational during 2028.
