ARAI and VECTOR Informatik India Partner to Advance Vehicle Safety and Technology

September 2025 : The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VECTOR Informatik India to strengthen the development and validation ecosystem for vehicle safety, cybersecurity, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) in India.
The MoU was exchanged between Dr. Reji Mathai, Director, ARAI and Mr Brahmanand Patil, President & Managing Director at VECTOR Informatik India, during the inaugural program of iTEC India 2025. The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Tapan Sahoo, Executive Officer - Digital Enterprise at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Dr. G. Nagarajan, President SAEINDIA, VC Steering Committee iTEC India, and other senior officials.
This strategic partnership is poised to drive innovation in key areas shaping the future of mobility, including: ADAS/Automated Driving: Advancing technologies that assist drivers and pave the way for autonomous vehicles. Cybersecurity: Developing robust solutions to protect vehicles from digital threats. AUTOSAR: Enhancing the standard software architecture for automotive electronic control units. xEV Control Systems: Optimizing control systems for electric and hybrid vehicles. Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV): Accelerating the shift towards vehicles where functions are primarily controlled by software.
The collaboration aims to accelerate cutting-edge research, foster industry partnerships, and enhance skill development to empower India’s mobility ecosystem. This joint effort will contribute to creating safer, smarter, and more sustainable transportation solutions for the future.
