March 2026 : In a strategic move to bolster its leadership and governance, three-wheeler major Atul Auto Limited has recently announced the appointment of Dr. K. C. Vora as an Independent Director (Non-Executive Independent). The appointment, effective March 15, 2026, signals the company’s commitment to integrating deep-tech expertise with corporate oversight as it navigates the evolving mobility landscape.

The decision was finalized during a Board of Directors meeting on March 14, 2026, following a strong recommendation from the Nomination & Remuneration Committee. While the position is honorary, Dr. Vora will serve a three-year term as an Independent Director, pending shareholder approval.

Dr. Vora is a titan in the Indian automotive sector, currently serving as the Program Director for the Automotive Centre of Excellence at NAMTECH, based at the IIT Gandhinagar Research Park. With a career spanning over 40 years, his appointment comes at a pivotal time for Atul Auto as it expands its footprint in the alternative mobility and electric vehicle (EV) segments.

Dr. Vora’s illustrious four-decade career spans leadership roles at Mahindra & Mahindra, Emitec, and Walchandnagar Industries. A former Senior Deputy Director at ARAI, he now serves as a consultant for ASDC, chairing their EV Expert Group.

Dr. Vora’s professional journey is a blend of rigorous academia and high-impact industrial leadership. He holds a Ph.D. from IIT Bombay, an M.Tech in Automotive Engineering from VJTI, and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya.
