August 2025 : Epiroc has recently announced the start of construction on a new production and R&D facility in Nashik, India. This strategic investment is aimed at strengthening the company's commitment to both its Indian and global customers.
The new site will be dedicated to the development, innovation, and production of underground and surface equipment for a wide range of customers. The facility, which will total approximately 175,000 square meters, will include buildings for production and prototyping, an R&D lab, office space, and an outdoor equipment test track. The company expects operations to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with further phased developments planned for the coming years.
According to Helena Hedblom, Epiroc's President and CEO, "The new facility in Nashik is a key step in further expanding our presence in the growing and very important Indian market, and it will also support our customers globally."
This expansion is part of Epiroc's ongoing growth strategy in India, where the company already has production and innovation facilities in several locations, including a recently expanded manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. The new Nashik site is expected to create local employment opportunities, adding approximately 200 new direct positions to the existing workforce of around 280 in the city.
Arunkumar Govindarajan, President, Epiroc India, emphasized the company's long-term vision. “We are excited about this further expansion in India, where we see significant growth potential. We look forward to continuing to be the productivity and sustainability partner for our local and global customers through this investment. The new facility also supports our ‘Make in India’ initiatives.”
Epiroc currently has around 1,750 employees in India, including a large and growing R&D organization, solidifying its position as a major contributor to the country's industrial and technological landscape.
