December 2025 : Exide Energy Solutions Limited (EESL), the lithium-ion powerhouse of Exide Industries, has recently announced a landmark leadership transition. Mr. Pravin Saraf has been appointed as the new Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, effective December 22, 2025. He succeeds Dr. Mandar Deo, who led the organisation through a critical phase of capability building and strategic growth.

The transition comes at a high-voltage moment for EESL as it nears the completion of its massive greenfield lithium-ion cell manufacturing plant in Bengaluru. The board placed on record its "sincere appreciation" for Dr. Deo’s contributions in laying the foundation for Exide's charge into the EV and stationary energy storage markets.

Mr. Saraf is no stranger to the Exide ecosystem, having served as Executive Director and Board Member of Exide Industries Limited. With over 35 years of elite domestic and international experience, his appointment signals a focus on scaling operations and embedding world-class manufacturing excellence. His storied career spans global benchmarks including Bosch, Bajaj, Endurance Technology, and Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. His expertise in managing both greenfield and brownfield expansions makes him the ideal architect for EESL’s next chapter as it prepares to commence commercial production by the end of FY26.

An alumnus of the Government College of Engineering, Pune (COEP) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Saraf also holds an MBA in Materials Management from Savitribai Phule Pune University.
