April 2024 : Hindustan Zinc (HZL), a Vedanta group company and VEXL Environ Projects Pvt Ltd (VEXL) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a pilot plant for pioneering sustainable solutions through waste utilization and wealth creation. This collaboration underscores HZL's unwavering commitment to a circular economy, where waste becomes a valuable resource.
The MoU was signed by Arun Misra, CEO, Hindustan Zinc and Bhaskar Bhattar, MD, VEXL Environ Projects Ltd. As per the MoU, the company will be converting waste products into usable resources, minimizing environmental impact, and maximizing resources. The project focuses on utilizing waste products like jarosite and jarofix, generated during zinc extraction, for productive applications at pilot plant.
