January 2026 : In a significant boost to East India’s industrial landscape, INOX Air Products (INOXAP) has formalized a major partnership with the Government of Odisha to establish a massive industrial gas complex. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with IPICOL during the high-profile Odisha Investors’ Meet held in Kolkata on January 17, 2026.

The agreement outlines the establishment of a 2×1300 TPD (Tons Per Day) Air Separation Unit (ASU) at Tata Steel’s Meramandali plant in the Dhenkanal district. This facility will be crucial in supporting the steel major’s ongoing capacity expansions by providing a steady supply of high-purity Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Argon.

The MoU was signed in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, and Industry Minister Shri Sampad Charan Swain. Representing INOX Air Products, Managing Director Siddharth Jain engaged with top dignitaries to discuss a roadmap focused on sustainable industrialization and the creation of skilled employment opportunities within the state.

This project is part of a larger investment wave, as the Odisha government secured commitments worth approximately ₹1 trillion during the Kolkata roadshow. By anchoring large-scale infrastructure like the Meramandali ASUs, Odisha is rapidly transitioning into a value-addition and advanced manufacturing hub.

For INOX Air Products, India’s largest manufacturer of industrial and medical gases, this onsite partnership further solidifies its market leadership and commitment to the "Make in India" initiative through cutting-edge cryogenic technology.
