July 2026 : Andhra Pradesh is undergoing a massive industrial facelift. Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu led the successful inauguration of the JSW Industrial Park in Vizianagaram and marked the official commencement of the pioneering JSW Rayalaseema Steel Project.
The JSW Industrial Park in Vizianagaram spans a massive 1,166 acres with a targeted initial investment of ₹531 crore. Envisioned as a fully integrated plug-and-play industrial ecosystem by Mr. Sajjan Jindal (Chairman, JSW Group) and Mr. Parth Jindal (MD, JSW Industrial Parks Limited), the project blends world-class infrastructure with commercial, residential, and social spaces. It is strategically poised to generate nearly 45,000 job opportunities, serving as a launchpad for local MSMEs and large corporate entities alike.
Simultaneously, JSW Steel has kicked off development for its 2-Million Tonne integrated steel plant in the Rayalaseema region. This future-ready, greenfield complex relies on next-generation Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) technology, utilizing recycled scrap and high-grade Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) to manufacture low-carbon structural steel. The project will roll out in phases: a ₹4,500 crore first phase targeting a 1-MTPA capacity, followed by an ₹11,850 crore expansion to reach the full 2-MTPA threshold, bringing total steel project investments to ₹16,350 crore.
Reflecting on the state's economic momentum, Mr. Sajjan Jindal, Chairman & Managing Director, JSW Group, said: “The commencement of the Rayalaseema Steel Project reflects JSW’s confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s long-term industrial and economic potential. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu Ji, the state is creating a strong ecosystem for manufacturing, infrastructure and investment-led growth. We are proud to partner in this journey and contribute towards building globally competitive industrial capabilities in the region.”
Emphasizing the infrastructure boom, Mr. Jayant Acharya, Joint Managing Director & CEO, JSW Steel, added: “India is entering a significant phase of manufacturing and infrastructure expansion, and Andhra Pradesh is at the forefront of this growth. Steel will remain a critical enabler of this growth. The project aligns with our long-term strategy of building future-ready manufacturing assets while supporting regional industrial development. We believe the project will play an important role in strengthening domestic steelmaking capabilities and supporting the region's growth ambitions.”
