October 2026 : KONE has recently announced a leadership transition across its Southeast Asia operations. After 11 years of dedicated service, Edward Loy is retiring from his role as Managing Director for KONE Southeast Asia. Steering the company into its next growth phase, Arun Bhatia has been appointed as the new Managing Director.

His career spans over three decades of leadership in strategic growth, regional P&L management, sustainability advocacy, and digital transformation. He began his journey at Voltas Limited (A TATA Enterprise) before embarking on a distinguished, decades-long tenure at Carrier. Across Carrier India and Carrier Global Corporation, Bhatia rose through senior leadership ranks - eventually serving as Managing Director for South Asia Pacific, leading APAC Strategy, Global Product Management, Global Exports, and Data Centres, and most recently serving as Regional Managing Director for Southeast Asia and Global Exports.

Academically, Bhatia holds a Mechanical Engineering qualification from YMCA Institute of Engineering and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Sales & Marketing) from the National Institute of Modern Management, Pune.
