October 2025 : The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, today virtually inaugurated the Mahindra Tractors Skill Development Centre in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, from Mumbai. This landmark initiative, a collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, is set to empower rural youth by equipping them with industry-relevant skills and opening new avenues for employment and economic growth in the region.
The Skill Development Centre has been established at the Government ITI college in Gadchiroli by Mahindra Tractors, India’s No.1 tractor brand, in partnership with the Department of Vocational Education & Training (DVET) and the Maharashtra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS). The joint effort is designed to significantly advance rural skilling and support the nation’s focus on leveraging its unique demographic dividend.
Fostering Industry 4.0 Readiness in Rural Youth
The centre's primary objective is to equip the youth of Gadchiroli with industry-ready skills in tractor and farm machinery, thereby boosting local livelihoods.
Mahindra will leverage its unmatched industry expertise and commitment to excellence by providing: A structured curriculum delivered by best-in-class trainers. Access to the most modern technical equipment. Crucial hands-on experience in various aspects of tractor-related skills.
The training program is designed to pave the way for multiple career opportunities across the ecosystem. Graduates will be prepared for roles in assembly at manufacturing plants, as well as sales and service positions at dealership locations.
