May 2026 : In a major step forward for India's clean energy transition, Ratnamani Metals & Tubes Ltd. has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with steel giant Tata Steel to pioneer Hydrogen-compliant Hot Rolled Coils (HRC) and pipes.

As the global shift toward sustainable energy solutions accelerates, Hydrogen is rapidly emerging as a cornerstone of a cleaner tomorrow. However, transitioning to a Hydrogen economy introduces intense engineering hurdles, particularly regarding transportation infrastructure. Gaseous Hydrogen requires highly specialized materials, rigorous testing, and flawless long-term reliability to prevent embrittlement and ensure safe passage.

Recognizing this massive technical challenge, the two industry leaders converged at the Tata Centre in Kolkata to formalize their partnership. Under the new agreement, dedicated teams from both organizations will work hand-in-hand to develop and evaluate cutting-edge pipeline solutions. These materials are being engineered specifically for the transportation of 100% gaseous Hydrogen, with advanced validation and testing slated to take place at internationally reputed laboratories.

More than just a standard corporate collaboration, this partnership represents a shared national step toward preparing the robust infrastructure required for a sustainable Hydrogen economy. The historic agreement was signed by Ratnamani’s Whole Time Director, Mr. Prashant Sanghvi, and Mr. Subodh Pandey, VP Technology, R&D, NMB & Graphene, Tata Steel. The signing took place in the inspiring presence of Ratnamani’s CEO Mr. Manoj Sanghvi, Business Head Mr. Dhirendra M Sharma, and senior members from both corporate teams.
