September 2025 : Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India has recently announced the appointment of Dr. V Vikraman as the new Chief of Renault Engineering. The strategic appointment is set to bolster the company's engineering capabilities and drive the development of new-generation vehicles in the Indian market.

Dr. Vikraman brings over 17 years of extensive experience from India's leading automotive OEMs. He joins Renault Nissan after a distinguished career at the Mahindra Group, where he served as Engineering Head for Vehicle Mechanical Systems. In this role, he was instrumental in leading a team of over 800 engineers in the development of world-class Born EV and ICE products, including flagship platforms like the XUV 700, ScorpioN, and THAR. His expertise in delivering products that redefine the SUV space is expected to be a significant asset to his new team.

An alumnus of IIT Madras, where he completed both his MS and PhD, Dr. Vikraman has a strong academic and technical foundation. He is a prolific innovator, with over 50 patents and more than 25 SAE international papers to his name. His contributions have been recognized with numerous accolades, including the prestigious ARAI Young Engineer Award in 2017 and multiple Mahindra Innovation Awards.

The appointment is expected to leverage his proven leadership and technical acumen to lead and inspire teams, delivering outstanding results that align with the company's vision for the future.
