October 2025 : Linde recently announced a major restructuring of its executive leadership, confirming a seamless transition plan at the highest level of the organization. Effective January 31, 2026, Sanjiv Lamba, the company’s current Chief Executive Officer, will assume the additional role of Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Lamba will succeed Steve Angel, who plans to retire from Linde's Board on the same date. Angel concludes a distinguished 25-year career with the company, having served as Chairman since 2022, Chief Executive Officer from 2018 to 2022, and as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Praxair, Inc., Linde's predecessor, from 2007 to 2018.

Commenting on his departure, Angel stated, "It has been a privilege to serve Linde over the past 25 years. I’ve especially enjoyed working alongside our talented employees and fellow Directors.”

Commenting on his new role, Lamba stated, “I am honored that the Board of Directors has asked me to serve as Chairman of the company.”
