Schaeffler India Appoints Amit Bhalerao as Chief Operating Officer

August 2026 : To fortify its operational matrix and accelerate growth, Schaeffler India has appointed Amit Bhalerao as Chief Operating Officer (COO). In his new role, Bhalerao steps up to steer Schaeffler’s end-to-end operational strategy across its industrial and automotive manufacturing footprint in India. His mandate centers on scaling plant efficiency, embedding advanced Lean methodologies, strengthening supply chain resilience, and driving continuous improvement to meet evolving market demands.

With over 24 years of multi-disciplinary experience, Bhalerao brings a powerhouse combination of operational excellence, lean manufacturing expertise, and strategic vision. Before joining Schaeffler India, he held dual executive responsibilities at Kelvion India as Managing Director India and Vice President Operations, having previously served as their Head of Plant Operations (Director) and Head of Operational Excellence (Global) at Kelvion Holding GmbH in Germany.

Bhalerao’s extensive career spans key operational leadership roles at industrial majors worldwide such as Cummins Inc., Eaton Corporation, Sterlite Technologies (STL), CSG International, and Duer Carolina Coil in South Carolina.

Bhalerao holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Master of E-Commerce from Clemson University (South Carolina, USA), along with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT, Pune).
