June 2026 : Marking a major milestone in its long-standing relationship with JSW Steel, Schaeffler India has officially commenced its specialized Roll Shop Service Operations for Hot Strip Mill-3 at JSW Steel's Vijayanagar Works - the largest integrated steel plant in India.

The high-profile facility was formally inaugurated while drawing key leaders from both corporate giants. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Mr. Rama P. V. N. P. Rao, Senior VP - Mill Zone 3, Vijayanagar Works, and Mr. Dinesh Kumar Rout, VP - HSM-3, Vijayanagar Works, alongside Mr. Seshan Iyer, President - Bearings and Industrial Solutions, Schaeffler India. This collaborative launch symbolizes a fresh chapter of intensive, on-site service support right at the heart of JSW's heavy manufacturing operations.

Bringing technical expertise directly to the shop floor allows Schaeffler to act with unprecedented agility. By anchoring an active team on the ground, the engineering pioneer is positioning itself to deliver faster response times, enhance heavy equipment reliability, and offer ironclad support for continuous operations. This direct presence is crucial given that the Hot Strip Mill represents one of the most mechanically demanding and critical applications within the entire steel manufacturing process.

This new venture is not a standalone project, but rather a natural evolution of a collaborative journey that first began back in 2014. The engagement serves as a strategic extension of Schaeffler’s successful roll shop management services already running smoothly at Vijayanagar Works’ Bar Rod Mill-2, Wire Rod Mill-2, and Hot Strip Mill-2.

Looking ahead, the deeper on-ground synergy is poised to create a seamless ripple effect across the entire plant production cycle. With Schaeffler taking the operational reins at the new roll shop, the primary focus remains on safeguarding critical upstream and downstream processes, ensuring they run efficiently with minimal disruption, and driving long-term industrial value.
