October 2025 : In a landmark move signaling a rapid green transformation of India's cold supply chain, SWITCH Mobility has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Celcius Logistics Solutions Pvt Ltd to deploy 350 Electric Reefer Trucks. This agreement represents India's single largest bulk order and first large-scale deployment of electric refrigerated Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs). The partnership is set to create a new, sustainable benchmark in temperature-controlled logistics, a segment historically dominated by diesel vehicles.
Ganesh Mani S, CEO, Switch Mobility, highlighted the strategic importance of electrifying this demanding sector. "Our partnership with Celcius Logistics marks a key milestone in advancing electric mobility into the cold chain segment," Mani stated. "This first and largest 3.5-ton EV reefer order in India showcases how sustainability and efficiency can go hand in hand."
The deployment will utilize the SWITCH IeV Series EV reefer, which is specifically engineered for maintaining product integrity across frozen, chilled, and fresh categories. A key technological advantage is the vehicle's design for consistent cooling performance with minimal transit loss, even when the vehicle is idling.
Mani emphasized the superior driver and product experience, noting, "With low noise, vibration, and harshness levels, it delivers a smoother, quieter experience while maintaining product quality. Together, we are setting a new benchmark for sustainable, reliable, and cost-efficient temperature-controlled transport in India."
This transition by Celcius Logistics, a leading tech-enabled cold supply chain solutions provider, underscores the industry's accelerating shift towards zero-emission transport solutions, promising a significant reduction in operational costs and environmental impact across the distribution of perishable goods.
