July 2025 : Tata BlueScope Steel recently announced the appointment of Mr. Praveen Venugopalan Thampi as its new Managing Director. With his extensive experience and forward-thinking vision, Mr. Thampi is set to guide the company towards even greater achievements.

Mr. Thampi is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of diverse industrial experience across multiple geographies within the steel industry. His leadership roles have spanned critical functions including high-end Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, New Product Development, Safety, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Marketing, Engineering, and Capital Projects Execution. He is known for his strong business acumen, integrity, and ability to build high-potential teams, successfully setting up capital-intensive projects and achieving operational excellence through methodologies like TPM, Lean, and Industry 4.0. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Thampi served as Chief Cold Rolling Mill TSK at Tata Steel.
