“The next wave of industrial AI will be shaped by how effectively AI agents are orchestrated to transform engineering, plant systems, and asset-centric operations. While enterprises are scaling their use of AI agents, our firm belief is that the AI era will be won by context-aware agentic deployment across enterprises. With the Industrial Intelligence Foundry, TCS is helping enterprises to deploy domain-specific, AI applications at scale that can accelerate autonomy, and translate industrial knowledge into scalable business outcomes.” - Sreenivasa Chakravarti, Global Head & Vice President of Industrial Autonomy and Engineering - TCS

Oct 2026 : Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has unveiled its new Industrial Intelligence Foundry, an AI-driven suite designed to help industrial companies transition from surface-level AI experiments to fully scaled shop-floor deployment.

The greenfield site is engineered to manufacture advanced lithium-ion cells across various chemistries and form factors. This versatility enables EESL to address diverse requirements across both the electric vehicle mobility sector and stationary energy storage applications.

Unlike general-purpose generative AI tools that require companies to code agents from scratch, TCS’s new suite offers plug-and-play, domain-engineered vertical AI applications. Tailored specifically for high-precision sectors - including aerospace, semiconductors, medical devices, and utilities - the platform integrates directly into existing workflows to boost efficiency and automation.

The financial and operational promises are significant: TCS projects the Foundry can slash new product introduction timelines by 25% and raise manufacturing productivity by 20% to 25%, with long-term productivity gains potentially topping 40% as operating ecosystems mature.

Industry analysts emphasize that this shift addresses a critical bottleneck in enterprise technology adoption.

Ramachandran S, Practice Leader, Engineering and Manufacturing, HFS Research, said, “Most enterprise AI still lives on desktops, while there is untapped value on shop floors in industrial and physical AI. According to our research, industrial organizations plan to double their physical AI spending over the next two years. That is an opportunity to unlock latent value across engineering and manufacturing workflows, especially in critical areas where prevailing technologies fall short due to cost or functionality. Industrial Intelligence Foundry is TCS’ bet to fill this gap with domain-specific AI, with the potential for significant business impact, scaling AI implementations and not just another agentic AI project.”

By focusing on context-aware AI - combining domain expertise, operational constraints, and continuous learning - TCS aims to empower human workforces while boosting systemic autonomy.

Sreenivasa Chakravarti, Global Head & Vice President of Industrial Autonomy and Engineering, TCS, said, “The next wave of industrial AI will be shaped by how effectively AI agents are orchestrated to transform engineering, plant systems, and asset-centric operations.
