October 2026 : thyssenkrupp Automotive Technology has officially inaugurated its new engineering center in Solitaire Business Hub 2, located in Pune’s Baner-Balewadi business district. This facility represents a major leap forward in expanding the company's global research and development ecosystem, particularly in software-defined mobility, connected vehicles, and advanced chassis systems.

Having built up operations progressively since initial plans were announced in 2025, the center already employs over 120 engineers working across embedded systems, functional safety, cybersecurity, and mechanical engineering for international automotive clients. Over the next few years, the company plans to scale the local workforce to over 300 professionals.

The new hub is fully integrated into thyssenkrupp’s global R&D architecture, supporting international customer programs throughout their entire product development lifecycle.

Beyond software and R&D, India is becoming a pivotal sourcing and sales hub for the company, with plans to establish local manufacturing capabilities as new domestic customer projects are secured.
