May 2026 : Bringing an elite wealth of experience from emerging markets to the global stage, Mr. Vipin Sondhi has been elected to the Supervisory Board of Daimler Truck Holding AG.

Sondhi's career covers over 35 years in the automotive and industrial sectors, where he has consistently led heavy manufacturing businesses with deep India-global linkages. He previously served as the Managing Director and CEO of Ashok Leyland, a cornerstone of the commercial vehicle segment. Prior to that, he spent nearly 14 years shaping India's infrastructure boom as the Managing Director and CEO of JCB India Ltd. His executive journey also includes a six-year tenure as Managing Director and CEO of Tecumseh India. Currently, he lends his expertise to national quality governance as the Chairperson of the National Board for Quality Promotion (NBQP), having also served as Chairperson for the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal.

This leadership track record is anchored by top-tier academic credentials. Sondhi graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, before earning his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad.
