“This project brings together missile system integration with the production of the materials needed to build advanced missile systems, all at one location, creating South Asia's largest private-sector missile ecosystem.” - Jeet Adani, Director - Adani Defence & Aerospace

July 2026 : Adani Defence & Aerospace has officially broken ground on a mega ₹2,500-crore project in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. The facility is set to become South Asia's largest private-sector missile ecosystem, introducing an at-scale, backward-integrated capability that consolidates weapon assembly and raw material production under one roof.

The massive undertaking will plug a critical gap in India's defense supply chain by housing composite propellant and Trinitrotoluene (TNT) production alongside system integration. This enables the smooth transition of next-generation, DRDO-developed systems - such as the RUDRAM-II, NASM-SR, and the LRGB 'Gaurav' - from testing phases straight into mass serial production.

Beyond national defense, the investment is a massive economic win for the heart of India, promising to generate 5,000 skilled direct and indirect jobs while opening vast supply pipelines for local MSMEs.

Welcoming the mega-project, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav noted: “This landmark investment reinforces the state’s emergence as a preferred destination for strategic manufacturing. It will strengthen India's indigenous defence ecosystem while accelerating industrial growth and attracting more high-value investments to the state.”

Echoing the local impact, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia highlighted that the facility marks "the beginning of a new industrial chapter for the Shivpuri-Guna region." Building on Adani’s existing small arms hub in nearby Gwalior, the new facility positions Madhya Pradesh as an indispensable pillar of India's heavy defense industry.

Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Defence & Aerospace, summarized the gravity of the project: “Today marks the beginning of something truly significant. This project brings together missile system integration with the production of the materials needed to build advanced missile systems, all at one location, creating South Asia's largest private-sector missile ecosystem. We are proud to bring this sovereign capability to Madhya Pradesh, strengthening India's defence preparedness and contributing to Aatmanirbhar Bharat."
