September 2026 : Mahindra Aerostructures Pvt. Ltd. (MASPL) has locked in a new contract with Airbus. Under the deal, the Bengaluru-based Mahindra Group subsidiary will manufacture and supply critical fuselage skins for Airbus’ workhorse A320 aircraft family.

The contract focuses on precision engineering for the rear fuselage and tail sections - specifically Sections 18 and 19 - of the Airbus A320neo and long-range A321XLR models. Workers at Mahindra’s facility in Bengaluru will craft eight distinct skins for Section 18 and three for Section 19 before shipping the finished components to Airbus’ assembly operations in Augsburg, Germany.

To pull off this complex undertaking, Mahindra is upgrading its Bengaluru plant with high-end chemical milling, specialized surface treatments, and stretch-forming production lines. Initial tooling designs and engineering updates are already humming along, setting the stage for first deliveries targeted for 2028.

This deal marks a major progression in Mahindra's aerospace journey. Having already built parts for Airbus commercial jets and main fuselages for its H125 and H130 helicopters, the firm is steadily cementing India’s spot on the global aerospace map.
