February 2026 : In a strategic move to bolster its footprint across the India and SAARC markets, Amara Raja Group has recently announced the appointment of Arpan Sharma as Head - New Categories & Strategic Initiatives, Automotive. Reporting directly to the Chief Business Officer, Sharma will be responsible for spearheading new brand and category extensions aimed at expanding the company’s addressable market and creating fresh revenue profit pools.

The appointment comes at a pivotal time as Amara Raja continues its transition from a lead-acid powerhouse to a diversified energy and mobility leader. Sharma is expected to bring an entrepreneurial edge to the legacy firm, focusing on building sustainable enterprise value.

Sharma is a seasoned business leader with over 15 years of experience across the automotive, aftermarket, and digital sectors. He transitions to Amara Raja from CARS24, where he spent over seven years in various leadership roles, most recently serving as Vice President and Business Head. Before his impactful stint at CARS24, Sharma honed his strategic capabilities at Accenture Strategy and Tata Strategic Management Group (TSMG). His foundational industry experience includes nearly four years at Cummins India Ltd. Sharma holds an MBA in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai.
