August 2026 : EKA Mobility has recently appointed Dr. Prashant K Banerjee as its new Group Head - Government & Corporate Affairs.

In his new position, Banerjee will guide EKA Mobility’s stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy, and strategic alliance programs. By fostering tight collaboration with government institutions, regulatory authorities, and industry associations. He aims to cement EKA’s strategic standing within India’s fast-evolving green transport ecosystem. His appointment arrives as EKA continues expanding its footprint in sustainable, clean-energy transportation.

Banerjee began his career at IIT Bombay’s Action Research Centre, contributing to early vehicular CNG adoption projects. He subsequently designed Euro-standard engines at DCM Toyota and managed major powertrain launches at Daewoo Motors India (notably the Matiz CNG program). Spending nearly 13 years with Tata Motors, he served as Chief Engineer for passenger car platforms like the Indigo Manza and led global regulatory compliance frameworks. Most recently, Banerjee spent over 17 years as Chief Executive Director at the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), actively shaping Indian auto policy, safety standards, and international regulations.

Bringing over 36 years of deep-rooted automotive and public policy expertise, Banerjee’s career reflects a rich blend of technical innovation and regulatory leadership. He earned his M.Tech in Thermal Sciences and a Ph.D. in Engine Combustion Research from IIT Bombay.
