April 2026 : The logistical heartbeat of Pune’s manufacturing belt just got a major boost. In a move set to transform how goods move through one of India's most critical industrial corridors, KSH Distriparks has officially inaugurated the region’s first dedicated empty container yard.
Strategically located just 8 km from the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, this 15-acre facility is designed to solve a persistent headache for the Chakan-Talegaon industrial hub: the lack of immediate container availability. For years, local exporters and importers faced rising costs and operational delays due to the absence of a localized hub for container circulation. This new facility effectively bridges that gap, offering a streamlined home for storage, maintenance, and distribution.
The scale of the project is impressive. Built to handle up to 100,000 TEUs annually (with a daily capacity of 500 TEUs), the yard isn't just a parking lot for metal boxes. It is a full-service ecosystem featuring container washing, repair services, and dedicated parking for 60 trailers and car carriers.
A standout feature for the automotive sector is the integrated Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) center. This allows exporters of Completely Built Units (CBUs) to manage inspection, washing, and loading in one seamless workflow, drastically cutting down transit times.
