September 2024 : In a significant move aimed at strengthening defense collaboration, Lockheed Martin and Tata Advanced Systems have signed an agreement to expand opportunities for the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft in India. The partnership will focus on establishing a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in India to support the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) fleet of 12 C-130Js and other global Super Hercules aircraft.

Additionally, the agreement includes plans to expand C-130J manufacturing and assembly in India, producing aircraft for the IAF’s Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) program, pending approvals from both the U.S. and Indian governments. This collaboration marks a crucial step in bolstering India’s defense manufacturing capabilities and enhancing the country’s aerospace industry.
