April 2026 : Tata Motors has recently appointed Deepanjan Roy as its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), marking a significant homecoming for a veteran who knows the pulse of the Indian automotive landscape like few others. Walking back into the Tata Motors corridors, Roy brings with him a reputation for being a sharp strategist and a "boots-on-the-ground" leader. As the automotive industry shifts toward more digital-first, customer-centric marketing, his multidisciplinary background is expected to be a major catalyst for the brand’s next phase of growth.

This wealth of experience is backed by a stellar academic record. A Metallurgical Engineer from NIT Rourkela, Roy earned his MBA from SPJIMR (SP Jain Institute of Management & Research). He also completed executive leadership programs at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and IMD.
