September 2026 : VinFast has recently appointed Tapan Ghosh as its Chief Executive Officer - Asia. The promotion places Ghosh at the helm of the brand’s overall business operations across two of South Asia's fastest-growing EV markets: India and Indonesia.

Ghosh previously served as CEO of VinFast India, where he managed end-to-end country operations, including sales strategy, dealership network expansion, marketing, finance, HR, and after-sales service. In his new capacity, he will scale up VinFast's regional footprint, driving vehicle distribution, assembly, and infrastructure growth across both nations.

With three decades in automotive management, Ghosh boasts a career anchored by senior roles at major carmakers. He held leadership posts at Hindustan Motors, Honda Cars India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and Tata Motors. Most recently, he completed a nearly 13-year tenure at Hyundai Motor India Ltd., serving as Vice President & Function Head of National Sales.

On the educational front, Ghosh holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from BIT Mesra, Ranchi, followed by an MBA in Marketing from TAPMI, Manipal.
