July 2025 : Virtuoso Compressors Private Limited (VCPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Virtuoso Optoelectronics Limited (VOEPL), recently announced the inauguration of its state-of-the-art reciprocatory compressor manufacturing plant in Nashik, Maharashtra. This strategic move expands the group’s presence in the cooling components and broader white goods segment.

The inauguration ceremony was honored by the presence of Dr. Ashish Kumar, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, who served as the Guest of Honour.

Developed in technical collaboration with global refrigeration leaders M/s. Huayi Compressor (Jingzhou) Co. Limited and M/s. Jiaxipera Compressor Co. Limited, with support from M/s. Shenzhen Eateron Company Limited, the advanced manufacturing line is designed to produce compressors for domestic and commercial refrigeration systems. This collaboration ensures access to proven, energy-efficient technology, enabling high-quality output aligned with global standards.

The new facility boasts a production capacity of 2.8 million compressors per annum, spanning a wide range from 3 cc to 15 cc, with both fixed-speed and variable-speed compressor variants. With the Indian reciprocatory compressor market estimated at approximately 22 million units annually and 13-14 million units currently imported, Virtuoso’s new plant aims to significantly reduce import dependence and contribute to India’s localization goals under the "Make in India" initiative.

Mr. Sukrit Bharati, Managing Director, VCPL, stated, “Entering compressor manufacturing is a major step for the group, and we look forward to building strong manufacturing capabilities in this segment. Local manufacturing of compressors will ensure smoother compliance with the BIS certification requirements mandated by the Government of India. This will also help in developing a local supply chain for compressors which is in line with the nation’s vision of – Make in India.”

Dr. Kumar conducted a walkthrough of the production line, gaining insights into the precision-driven processes, manufacturing technologies, and scalable automation integrated into the facility. The leadership team also presented the Group’s scale-up and backward integration roadmap, reflecting its commitment to future-ready manufacturing and R&D-backed growth.
