September 2026 : Crown Holdings, Inc. has officially broken ground on its first beverage can manufacturing plant in India. The landmark ceremony took place in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, marking a crucial step in the company’s expansion into one of the fastest-growing consumer markets in the world.

The facility, originally announced in April 2026, will feature two high-speed production lines capable of producing approximately 2.2 billion aluminum beverage cans annually. With construction now underway, operations are targeted to launch in the second half of 2027 to supply both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage brands.

Rooted in local traditions, the groundbreaking event brought together senior Crown leadership - including Djalma Novaes Jr (EVP & COO), Mark Ketcheson (President, Bevcan EMEA), Sameer Hasan (VP, Bevcan MEA), and key members of the Crown MEA team - alongside project consultants from KPMG India and Archetype Group.

Distinguished local government leaders attended, including Shri Nand Gopal Gupta (Hon'ble Minister for Industrial Development, Export Promotion, NRI & Investment Promotion), Shri Jaswant Saini (Hon'ble Minister of State, Industries), Shri Alok Kumar (Additional Chief Secretary), Shri Manoj Kumar Singh (CEO, State Transformation Commission), Shri Deepak Kumar (IIDC Commissioner), Shri Shashank (Additional CEO, Invest UP), and Shri Ghanshyam (District Magistrate, Unnao). Following the ceremony, Crown leadership met with the Honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, to discuss the investment and receive the official land allotment letter for the site.
