September 2026 : DEUTZ has finalized a cooperation agreement with India’s Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited (KOEL), unlocking a new entry-level drive series for the off-highway market. The partnership expands DEUTZ’s portfolio into the under-two-liter segment with a powerful 1.6-liter engine platform designed for highly regulated international markets.

The water-cooled, three-cylinder series features electronic direct injection and a high-pressure common-rail system, offering outputs ranging from 18 to 41.2 kW. Available in naturally aspirated (D1.6) and turbocharged (TCD1.6) variants, the compact platform meets EPA/CARB Tier 4 and EU Stage V emissions standards, making it ideal for construction, material handling, and industrial applications.
