June 2024 : The Rockwell Automation Presents Leadership Think Turf 2024, held in association with Fortinet and powered by Pro MFG Media, brought together industry leaders, C-suite executives, and cybersecurity experts to discuss advanced strategies for securing the manufacturing sector. The event, held at the Hyatt Centric in Bangalore on 25 June 2024, focused on the critical intersection of IT and OT (Operational Technology) and the challenges faced in implementing robust cybersecurity measures.

The Indian manufacturing landscape is rapidly evolving, driven by technological advancements and digital transformation. As organizations embrace Industry 4.0, the convergence of IT and OT becomes essential. The event aimed to address these challenges head-on, emphasizing the need for integrated cybersecurity solutions.

Drawing an analogy between cybersecurity and Sun Tzu’s Art of War, they highlighted the following key points:

• Perfect Synchronization: Cybersecurity requires seamless collaboration between IT and OT teams, processes, and technologies. It is a team sport where every player’s contribution matters.

• OT Security: Ensuring the safety of operational technology is crucial. Coordinating patch management with plant maintenance and prioritizing employee safety, system availability, and data integrity are paramount.
