Kaynes Semicon Rolls Out India’s First Commercial Multi-Chip Module

October 2025 : Kaynes Semicon Pvt Ltd has proudly announced a historic breakthrough in India’s semiconductor ambition, achieving the rollout and shipment of the nation's first commercially manufactured Multi-Chip Module (MCM). The company successfully delivered 900 units of the highly complex IPM5 modules, which were fully assembled, tested, and quality-cleared at its state-of-the-art OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) facility in Sanand, Gujarat.
This significant shipment was executed under the India Semiconductor Mission 1.0 and delivered to Alpha & Omega Semiconductor (AOS), USA, marking a pivotal moment in strengthening India’s position as a reliable Global OSAT Hub.
The delivered product, the IPM5 module, is a sophisticated device integrating 17 dies - including IGBTs, controller ICs, FRDs, and Diodes - into a single, high-performance package. This demonstrates Kaynes Semicon's advanced capability to domestically produce highly complex power modules essential for industries like automotive, consumer electronics, industrial automation, and clean energy systems.
The achievement was made possible through strategic collaboration with global leaders Alpha & Omega Semiconductor and Mitsui & Co., Ltd., leveraging their expertise and supply chain support.
The Sanand facility currently boasts a capacity of up to 6.3 million chips per day. Kaynes Semicon is now targeting full mass production by January 2026, with a planned ramp-up to 1.5 million chips per day by Q1 of the 2026-27 financial year.
