The India-Taiwan corridor is emerging as a critical axis in semiconductor development, and this collaboration positions LTSCT at its centre, combining our fabless design capability and IP-led product vision with Azuremoto’s deep ecosystem strengths.” - Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Chief Executive - LTSCT
July 2026 : India is rapidly shedding its image as a mere spectator in the global tech race, stepping directly onto the semiconductor playing field. L&T Semiconductor Technologies (LTSCT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of engineering giant L&T, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Taiwan’s Azuremoto Technologies Inc. to co-develop high-efficiency Silicon Carbide (SiC) and power semiconductor solutions.
The partnership targets the insatiable appetite of the AI Data Centre market alongside core industrial sectors like solar inverters, smart energy metering, and electric motor drives. By marrying LTSCT’s fabless design expertise with Azuremoto’s cutting-edge Taiwanese engineering know-how, the duo aims to build a highly resilient, cross-border value chain.
The timing could not be better. With India’s Union Budget 2026 rolling out five-year tax exemptions and slashing import duties on chip components, the India-Taiwan tech corridor is shifting into overdrive.
Commenting on the milestone, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Chief Executive - LTSCT, said: “India is no longer on the fringes of the global semiconductor map - it is shaping its contours. This MoU with Azuremoto signals LTSCT’s intent to build India’s semiconductor future through deliberate, strategic partnerships with leading global ecosystems. The India-Taiwan corridor is emerging as a critical axis in semiconductor development, and this collaboration positions LTSCT at its centre, combining our fabless design capability and IP-led product vision with Azuremoto’s deep ecosystem strengths. We are not only addressing current demand for high-performance power semiconductors but also building the foundation for a resilient, cross-border value chain to serve AI infrastructure and industrial power markets over the long term.”
The collaboration moves past standard transactional supplier relationships, pivoting instead toward a true co-design philosophy.
Stanley Lin, Chief Executive Officer of Azuremoto Technologies, added: “This partnership underscores Azuremoto’s commitment to building a resilient, execution-driven power semiconductor ecosystem globally. By combining LTSCT’s IP-led product vision and application expertise in India, with Azuremoto’s Taiwan-based design know-how and go-to-market execution, we are moving beyond a traditional distributor model towards true co-design enablement. Our shared goal is to accelerate time-to-market for high-performance SiC and power semiconductor solutions that meet the stringent efficiency, reliability and scalability demands of AI Data Centres and industrial applications worldwide.”
With a definitive agreement slated within the year, this alliance cements a formidable trilateral momentum - blending India’s engineering talent, Taiwan’s ecosystem expertise, and the global push for next-generation AI infrastructure.
