September 2025 : In a significant development for India's electric mobility sector, Mahesh Babu has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Olectra Greentech Limited. This move brings one of the most prominent leaders in the electric vehicle (EV) industry to the helm of a company known for its focus on sustainable public transportation.
Mahesh Babu brings with him a wealth of experience, with over two decades dedicated to introducing and scaling cutting-edge technologies in mobility. His career has been marked by a focus on making disruptive technologies accessible to a broad audience, and a leadership style centered on purpose, agility, and innovation.
Prior to joining Olectra Greentech, Mahesh Babu held key leadership positions at several major companies. He served as the Global CEO of Switch Mobility, a role that saw him leading the company's worldwide operations. He also held the position of Managing Director & CEO at Mahindra Electric Mobility Limited, where he was instrumental in launching several new EV models, including the iconic e2oPlus and the commercial-focused eVerito and eSupro. During his time at Mahindra, he also launched the mobility platform NEMO (Next Generation Mobility) to connect the entire EV ecosystem and forged key partnerships with companies like Uber, Zoomcar, and Lithium Urban Technologies. Academically, he is an alumnus of BITS, Pilani and Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business
