September 2025 : Mahindra Aerostructures Pvt. Ltd., a key player in the Mahindra Group, has secured a major contract with Airbus Helicopters to manufacture and assemble the main fuselage for its H125 light single-engine helicopter. This new agreement builds on an existing partnership and marks a significant milestone in strengthening India's role in the global aerospace supply chain.

The contract was announced in the presence of key executives from both companies, including Jürgen Westermeier, President and Managing Director of Airbus in India and South Asia, and Dr. Anish Shah, Group CEO & MD of the Mahindra Group.

Under the terms of the deal, Mahindra Aerostructures will produce the H125 fuselage at its Bengaluru facility, which is currently being expanded to accommodate the new program. The company aims to begin industrialization immediately, with the first fuselage delivery targeted for 2027. This contract is an addition to the already-awarded work for the H130 helicopter fuselage, announced earlier this year.

"This new contract with Mahindra Aerostructures is a testament to the strong capabilities of our partners in India and our shared vision for the country's aerospace sector," said Jürgen Westermeier. He highlighted that this new work package, along with existing projects, demonstrates Airbus's confidence in India as a critical hub for global aerospace manufacturing.

For Airbus, India is a strategic market and a key resource hub. Every Airbus commercial aircraft currently includes components and technologies made in India, with the company's annual procurement from the country standing at $1.4 billion. Airbus is also developing two Final Assembly Lines in India: one for the C295 military aircraft and another for the H125 helicopter.

The H125 is renowned as the world’s best-selling single-engine helicopter, valued for its performance, versatility, and cost-efficiency in a variety of roles, including passenger transport, aerial work, and law enforcement.
