“Aligned to our vision to create transformative partnerships that enable people, the planet and our business to thrive, we are pleased to announce our collaboration with Lakshya and Recycle India Foundation to promote sustainable healthcare practices at pharmacies.” - Milind Thatte, Managing Director, P&G Health India.

June 2022: This World Environment Day, P&G Health built up its obligation to feasible waste administration through its new organization with the Lakshya and Recycle India Foundation for supportable drug store squander isolation and the board project as a feature of its corporate social obligation (CSR) program 'SEHAT'.

“Initial response to our pilot program with participating pharmacies has been encouraging, with baseline survey results demonstrating that less than 20% of pharmacies were segregating waste citing lack of awareness as the key reason. Through learnings from our first pilot, we aim to subsequently scale up this project across other locations and cities in the near future,” said P&G Health India, Managing Director, Milind Thatte.

The drive intends to advance maintainable medical services rehearses through an on-ground mindfulness crusade for drug store proprietors and their staff on suitable techniques for isolating waste materials like plastic, paper, glass, and biomedical garbage including unused or terminated meds and supplies, needles, veils, and sanitizers.

When not arranged as expected, these substances can represent a danger to human and creature life. During the experimental run program, drug stores will gather the waste materials produced at their separate foundations and isolate them in an assigned variety of coded dustbins. This material will then, at that point, be gathered occasionally and reused by Recycle India Foundation. Material that can't be reused will be discarded in a dependable way.

Remarking on the undertaking, Ashish Agarwal, Secretary, Recycle India Foundation, said, “We are delighted to be a part of this project with P&G Health to equip pharmacists with the knowledge and tools required for effective waste management. In the absence of appropriate segregation and recycling, this waste can harm the environment and human health. We intend to work with committed partners to make waste segregation and recycling an integral part of our daily lives, thereby bringing about a change in the society.”
