July 2024 : The Delhi Chapter of Rockwell Automation Leadership Think Turf, was held on July 3, 2024, at the Pullman, Delhi Aerocity. The leadership forum focused on advanced cybersecurity strategies for the manufacturing sector. Organized in association with Claroty and powered by Pro MFG Media, the event brought together industry leaders to discuss and share insights on strengthening the digital future of manufacturing with advanced cybersecurity strategies.

Manish Kulkarni, Director, Pro MFG Media, opened the event with a welcome note, followed by Dilip Sawhney, Managing Director, Rockwell Automation India underscoring the significance of cybersecurity in the manufacturing sector, setting the stage for the discussions to follow.

Shally Verma, Business Development Leader India – Network & Security Services, Rockwell Automation India kicked off the industry presentations, providing insights into their latest innovations and the critical role of cybersecurity in modern manufacturing. This was followed by a presentation by Joshua Kathiravan, Solutions Engineer, Claroty which highlighted the solutions specific to OT cybersecurity, emphasizing the importance of a robust security strategy in an increasingly connected industrial landscape

The centerpiece of the event was an engaging roundtable discussion on "Fortifying the Digital Future: Advanced Strategies for Cybersecurity in Manufacturing". Prominent Industry leaders such as Amit Kapil, Group Chief Technology Officer, Caparo, Baidyanath Kumar, CISO & Data Protection Officer, JK Lakshmi Cement, Bhupesh Janoti, Sr. Consultant Cyber Security Data Security Council of India, Dr. Jagannath Sahoo, CISO, Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd., Keshav Dubal, Head - IT, Dabur India, Mansi Thaparr, Head - Global Security, Apollo Tyres, Rajesh Das, CIO, Dalmia Sugar, Sunil Gubrani, Head IT Infra & Security, Fratelli Wines Private Limited, Umesh Kumar, Head - Cyber Security, Godfrey Phillips, Vineet Srivastava, Principal Manager IT, Fortum India Private Limited, Vishal Jain, Head IT Infra & Security (Digital Leader), Del Monte Foods, and Dr. Yusuf Hashmi, Group CISO, Jubilant Bhartia Group engaged in the discussion. Dilip Sawhney, Partha Bhaumik and Anoop Hegde from Rockwell Automation and Joshua Kathiravan from Claroty were also a part of the roundtable discussion.

The discussion also delved into strategies for balancing accessibility with security, emphasizing role-based access control, multi-factor authentication, and network segmentation as effective approaches.

Effective OT patch management was another critical topic. The roundtable also covered the elements of successful employee security training programs tailored to the manufacturing context, stressing the need for regular updates and practical exercises to reinforce learning.
