"Digital maturity isn’t measured by how many sensors or cloud tools you deploy, but by how seamlessly data flows from the factory floor to the boardroom to drive confident, real-time decisions."

October 2026 : Across shop floors in Pune and New Delhi, an important quiet shift is under way. Over the past decade, industrial leaders have poured millions into automation, cloud dashboards, predictive maintenance pilots, and MES platforms. Yet, walking down many factory lines reveals a persistent truth: plenty of digital initiatives exist, but few truly connected enterprises do. Operational Technology (OT) on the shop floor and Information Technology (IT) in executive suites continue to speak very different languages.

To address this challenge, HPE in association with Intel, partnered with Pro MFG Media to host an exclusive, closed-door CxO Leadership Roundtable series. Titled "The Connected Manufacturing Enterprise: Connecting Strategy, Systems & People for the Digital Manufacturing Enterprise," the event brought together C-suite executives, manufacturing heads, and technology leaders for a peer-to-peer exchange.

The roundtable featured a panel of industrial and digital leaders, including Kartar Yadav (Napino Auto & Electronics Ltd), Namrita Mahindro (Lumax), Niraj Hans (Sandhar Technologies Ltd.), Prashant Khairnar (SPR Auto Technologies Limited), and Sanjiv Kumar Jain (Krishna Maruti Group). Joining them were Siddharth Yadav (Uno Minda), Vimal Manchanda (Samvardhana Motherson Group), and Vinod Srivastava (JBM Group). The discussion was moderated by Manish Kulkarni from Pro MFG Media alongside Casey Taylor and Neil Davis from HPE.

Varun Trivedi of HPE set the context for the evening, followed by an overview on HPE NonStop technology by Sameer Nagar.

A central debate of the evening tackled whether manufacturers have an overarching digital strategy or merely a patchwork of independent factory projects. Moving a successful pilot from a single assembly line to enterprise-wide scale requires more than technology deployment - it demands standardized data governance, interoperable infrastructure, and clear business outcomes from day one.

Who owns the digital manufacturing roadmap? Industry leaders emphasized that IT-OT convergence cannot succeed as a purely IT-driven agenda or an isolated plant-floor project. Seamless convergence requires a shared governance framework where IT, OT, engineering, and operations co-own business goals, aligning around unified productivity, safety, and operational excellence targets.

While machines generate terabytes of data daily, legacy shop floor environments often leave valuable operational insights trapped in organizational silos. Speakers discussed building resilient, highly reliable infrastructure - highlighted by HPE NonStop solutions - to clean, structure, and stream real-time factory data straight to ERPs and enterprise mobile platforms for immediate decision-making.

Technology is only half the equation. Executives agreed that workforce readiness determines the success or failure of digital transformations. Building a future-ready manufacturing enterprise requires proactive upskilling, transparent communication, and involving shop-floor operators early to alleviate fears around changing roles.

The day concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sanjay Bhan - Pro MFG Media, accompanied by speaker felicitations and a group photograph, before guests transitioned into an evening of cocktails, dinner, and informal networking.
