“We are building a technology platform that can evolve with India’s requirements. Indian waters present unique challenges, including high turbidity, silt, low visibility and changing currents. Our focus is on miniaturising technology while advancing our systems’ intelligence, capability and deployability across defence, infrastructure and industrial applications.” - Debendra Pradhan, Co-founder and CEO - Coratia Technologies

Oct 2026 : Coratia Technologies has raised ₹18 crore in a bridge funding round led by MGF Kavachh (MountTech Growth Fund). The follow-on capital injection comes on the heels of the company’s ₹17 crore Pre-Series A round raised in 2025 from MGF Kavachh, Piper, and SIDBI.

The fresh funds will primarily back the execution of Coratia’s high-stakes ₹66 crore Indian Navy contract under the iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence) initiative. Beyond defence, the capital will supercharge R&D, advance core subsea capabilities, and scale manufacturing for critical infrastructure applications.

Founded by Debendra Pradhan and Biswajit Swain, Coratia specializes in indigenous underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and autonomous marine systems engineered specifically for India’s harsh aquatic environments. Its flagship ROV, Jalasimha, has already achieved Technology Readiness Level 9 (TRL-9), laying a rock-solid foundation for deployment across challenging underwater terrains marked by high turbidity, silt, and fierce currents.

“We are building a technology platform that can evolve with India’s requirements. Indian waters present unique challenges, including high turbidity, silt, low visibility and changing currents. Our focus is on miniaturising technology while advancing our systems’ intelligence, capability and deployability across defence, infrastructure and industrial applications,” said Debendra Pradhan, Co-founder and CEO.

The timing couldn’t be better. With the Ministry of Jal Shakti pushing for Comprehensive Dam Safety Evaluations under the Dam Safety Act, 2021 by December 2026, Coratia’s sensor-laden robots offer a safer, highly accurate alternative to placing human divers in hazardous conditions for inspections of dams, bridges, pipelines, and offshore assets.

“The Navy programme is an important milestone, but our work extends well beyond it. We continue to invest in autonomy, sensing, navigation, underwater perception and intervention capabilities. Our deep R&D focus enables us to develop solutions for the specific challenges of Indian waters and build products for demanding applications,” noted Biswajit Swain, Co-founder and CTO.

With heavyweight clients including the Indian Navy, Indian Oil, Indian Railways, Tata Steel, and SAIL, Coratia is positioning itself at the very center of India’s push for technological self-reliance in subsea robotics.
