Oct 2026 : Ather Energy has recently appointed Sanoop Janardhanan as Digital Owner - Manufacturing & Engineering. Transitioning from his previous role as Head of Digital Manufacturing at the company's Bengaluru headquarters, Janardhanan will now drive end-to-end digital continuity, bridging the gap between how EV components are engineered and how they are assembled on the production line.

His expanded remit centers on breaking down operational silos. By connecting Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools with shop-floor automation, Janardhanan aims to ensure that engineering data flows directly into manufacturing execution, enabling real-time decision-making and faster iteration cycles for Ather’s growing lineup of smart electric scooters.

Janardhanan brings over 14 years of deep domain experience spanning Industry 4.0, Industrial IoT (IIoT), process automation, and robotics across automotive, tire, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Before joining Ather Energy, he spent over seven years at Merck Life Science in Hyderabad. His early career featured roles at Wipro and at MRF.

Academically, he holds an M.Tech in Manufacturing Management from BITS Pilani , a Bachelor’s in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Anna University, and specialized certification from Kuka Robotics.
