Oct 2026 : Valeo has elevated Jayakumar G to the position of Regional Operations Vice-President for its Valeo Power Division in Asia.

In this expanded role, Jayakumar will oversee operational strategy across key Asian markets - including Japan, Korea, and the ASEAN region - while continuing to serve as Valeo India President and Managing Director. The promotion directly aligns with the company’s "Elevate 2028" vision, aiming to sharpen operational synergies as the global automotive sector aggressively shifts toward sustainable, carbon-free mobility solutions. Under Jayakumar's guidance, the Valeo Power Division will push forward its mandate to lead in software-defined systems, thermal management, and electric propulsion.

Jayakumar brings over 30 years of deep industry expertise to his new dual mandate. His career began at Bosch India, where he spent seven years honing his core engineering foundation. He then spent over 12 years at Lear Corporation. Joining Valeo in 2010, he spent a decade in senior operational and managing director roles before taking the helm as Group President for India in 2020.

Jayakumar holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Coimbatore Institute of Technology and completed executive management training through the Valeo Global Management Program at CEDEP, affiliated with INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
