November 2025 : Bajaj Auto Ltd., the world's most valuable two- and three-wheeler manufacturer, today announced its official entry into the burgeoning e-rickshaw category with the launch of its new brand, Riki. Following decades of leadership in the 3-wheeler ecosystem, the company is extending its trusted partnership “Bharose ki Bhagedaari” to India’s rapidly expanding last-mile electric mobility sector.

The e-rickshaw segment, which has surged post-Covid by adding over 45,000 vehicles monthly, is currently dominated by unorganized players, resulting in gaps in reliability, safety, and durability. Bajaj Riki is engineered to directly address these pain points.

"Riki brings Bajaj Auto’s trusted 3W engineering and dependability into the electric rickshaw segment at a time when drivers and passengers need dependable solutions,” said Samardeep Subandh, President, Intra-City Business Unit, Bajaj Auto Ltd. “We’ve brought the best for the industry, the longest range, a monocoque chassis, independent suspension and hydraulic brakes. Riki is engineered to increase driver earnings, enhance passenger safety and comfort, and deliver the reliability India’s last-mile ecosystem has waited for.”

The initial launch includes two models: Riki P4005 (Passenger): Features a class-leading 149 km range and is powered by a 5.4 kWh battery. Priced at INR 1,90,890/- (ex-showroom). Riki C4005 (Cargo): Offers the highest certified range at 164 km, a larger tray, and 28% gradability. Priced at INR 2,00,876/- (ex-showroom).

Key safety and durability features across the Riki series include a monocoque chassis for stability, independent suspension to reduce toppling risk, and hydraulic brakes for superior stopping power, complemented by a 3-year battery warranty.

Sumeet Narang, President, Marketing added, “We are among the first organized players to enter, and we are the first to create a significantly superior, ground-up product.”

Following successful pilots, Riki will roll out in Phase 1 to over 100 towns across UP, Bihar, MP, Chhattisgarh, and Assam. The company aims to be present in about 200 cities by March, marking a major step toward dominating the electric 3-wheeler market.
