December 2025 : The Capital Goods & Strategic Skills Council (CGSSC) has recently announced a strategic collaboration with Grauer & Weil (India) Ltd. to launch a specialized technical course in Electroplating at one of Pune’s leading colleges, under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The partnership aims to strengthen India’s industrial skill ecosystem by developing future-ready talent in the critical field of surface engineering.

The programme is designed to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in electroplating and surface finishing technologies- key enablers across sectors such as automotive, capital goods, electronics, infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing. The initiative reflects a strong industry- academia partnership model, aligning skill development with emerging industrial requirements. It is expected to equip students with practical expertise, improve employability, and support innovation through experiential learning- key objectives of India’s broader skill development mission.

The programme is aligned with national priorities championed by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Skill India, and the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), while also supporting sectoral skill needs under the Capital Goods domain. The collaboration also reinforces the role of responsible industry participation in building sustainable skill pipelines. The agreement was entered into by Shalini Singh, CEO - CGSSC and Pallawi More & Gurinder Singh Gulati, Growels.

By leveraging Grauer & Weil (India) Ltd.’s technical expertise and CGSSC’s skilling framework, the initiative aims to create a replicable model for specialized technical education- contributing to workforce readiness, industrial competitiveness, and long-term economic growth.
