October 2025 : Cognite, the global leader in Industrial AI recently announced a major integration with NVIDIA to embed accelerated computing and advanced AI into its flagship data platform. The collaboration aims to unlock new levels of efficiency, intelligence, and innovation for asset-heavy industries worldwide.

The integration combines the Cognite Industrial AI and Data Platform (including Cognite Atlas AI™ and Cognite Data Fusion®) with NVIDIA’s powerful accelerated computing and software. This move addresses the immense challenge industrial organizations face in managing and contextualizing vast, complex streams of sensor and equipment data.

A core focus of the partnership is leveraging NVIDIA’s NV-Tesseract, a purpose-built foundation model family for time-series analysis, to process complex industrial data streams with unprecedented speed and accuracy.

Cognite Data Fusion provides the crucial operational context - tying raw sensor data to IT and engineering information - that is often missing, while NV-Tesseract captures long-range temporal patterns to deliver highly accurate results in anomaly detection, forecasting, and classification.

The first high-impact use case, delivered in partnership with global specialty chemical company Celanese, focuses on real-time anomaly detection. This joint effort aims to dramatically enhance the speed and accuracy of identifying critical operational anomalies, enabling proactive intervention to help prevent costly disruptions.

"By bringing NVIDIA's compute power to our AI solutions, we are now taking our capabilities, such as anomaly detection, to the next level," said Sameer Purao, SVP and CIO at Celanese.

Proactive Operations and Cost Savings
Across all future use cases, the integration promises three key strategic advantages for industrial customers: Proactive Problem Solving: Cognite Atlas AI agents, built on NVIDIA’s technology, will be able to forecast future operational states and predict potential failures in near real-time across thousands of sensors, driving the shift from reactive to proactive maintenance. Rapid Model Development: NVIDIA’s accelerated computing will allow data science teams to perform more training simulations and iterations in a shorter timeframe, leading to faster model retraining and significantly increased accuracy of Cognite Atlas AI agents, while substantially reducing false positives. Efficiency and Value: Superior anomaly detection results with less overall compute power will translate into substantial operational cost reductions, freeing up valuable engineering resources to focus on strategic optimization.

"The true potential of Industrial AI hinges on both deep operational context and revolutionary compute power," said Girish Rishi, Chief Executive Officer at Cognite. "Our immediate focus on real-time anomaly detection showcases how NVIDIA and Cognite are perfectly poised to deliver intelligent, cost-effective, and performant solutions for this new era of AI."
