What career would you recommend for Women Leadership aspirants ?
I’ve had the opportunity to work across multiple domains, including Product Development, Manufacturing, and Program Management. Gaining a holistic view of the business is critical for making informed decisions that drive sustainable growth. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend building hands-on experience in at least two different domains - it provides broader perspective, strengthens decision-making, and prepares you for impactful leadership roles.

A moment in your career that made you most proud ?
During the early years of my career, I had the opportunity to design a power controller for the Boeing 777 aircraft. Even today, every time I step onto an aircraft, I feel a deep sense of pride knowing I’ve contributed, in my own way, to something that connects people and places across the world. It’s a moment I truly cherish - and one that will stay with me for a lifetime.

What advice would you give young women entering the manufacturing industry today ?
Staying relevant to emerging technology trends, being adaptable, and maintaining a strong eagerness to learn are key to taking your career to the next level. The manufacturing ecosystem is evolving rapidly - and it is no longer a “man’s world.” Organizations are actively working to create safer, more inclusive environments for women on the shop floor and in leadership roles. I strongly encourage women to explore opportunities in manufacturing if it aligns with their career aspirations. The industry is transforming, and there has never been a better time to be part of that change.

What is one leadership lesson manufacturing taught you ?
“Being resilient in times of crisis” is one of the most profound lessons I’ve learned from my experience in manufacturing. Even with structured planning and well-defined processes in place, external factors - such as cross-border trade dynamics, national policies, and shifting economic conditions - can significantly impact operations. In the face of such uncertainties, what truly makes the difference is how a leader navigates the crisis..

Which competencies are most critical to thrive in the evolving digital technologies in manufacturing ?
As AI and automation continue to transform every industry, they are significantly enhancing productivity in manufacturing. To stay relevant, individuals must not only learn how to effectively use these technologies but also cultivate forward-thinking capabilities to anticipate future needs. Embracing innovation, continuous learning, and strategic thinking will be key to thriving in this evolving landscape.

What is one misconception about women in manufacturing you would like to break ?
A decade ago, manufacturing was often perceived as unsafe - both in terms of physical workload and workplace environment. Today, that perception is increasingly outdated. With advancements in automation, the physical intensity of many roles has significantly reduced. In addition, various government initiatives and workplace policies, including POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) regulations, have strengthened safety standards and improved the overall work environment.
