Embark on Start-up and Entrepreneurial Journey: RSB Group Chairman to NIT Students

November 2022: RK Behera, Chairman, RSB Group (headquartered at Pune) and also Alumni of National Institute of Technology graced the 12th Convocation 2022 as the Guest of Honour. At the ceremony attended by industry dignitaries and academicians, Mr. Behera urged the passing out students to embark on the start-up journey and to charter the innovative entrepreneurial journey. “This should be done while keeping the focus on employment opportunities for the common people and while serving the society at large. At the same time, continual research & development should be twined with latest technology to sustain and to carve a niche in the global arena for contributing to the industrial growth of our country,” he said. Mr Behera was felicitated along with PC Panigrahy, from first batch of 1960-64, as distinguished alumni on the august occasion.
As an alumni of NIT, Mr. Behera said that the RSB Group will contribute 50 percent of the total cost of the Incubation & Innovation Centre (IIC) to boost budding start-ups. He added that the IIC should collaborate with NML, XLRI and RIT to make its work effective and impactful for society at large.
Speaking further on the occasion, he referred to his own example talking about the entrepreneurial venture he started way back in 1975 at Jamshedpur, after graduating from NIT. Mr. Behera availed a government subsidy of Rs 20,000/- to start the venture journeying through the rough terrain of volatile business swings. He withstood the trials & tribulations with patience and perseverance and went on to build the RSB Group, which today has 11 plants in India and two overseas.
