September 2025 : Flender has recently announced a significant expansion of its manufacturing footprint with the groundbreaking of a new facility in Walajabad, India. This strategic move is aimed at addressing the increasing global demand for wind turbine drive components and strengthening the company's local production capabilities.

The expansion project builds on the company's acquisition of the former Eickhoff Wind Asia facility in early 2024. By integrating and expanding the site, Flender is poised to enhance its global supply chain, leveraging India's strategic location and industrial ecosystem. The Walajabad plant is expected to become a key contributor to Flender's commitment to the global energy transition.

A groundbreaking ceremony was recently held to mark the major milestone, attended by senior leadership from the company, including Christian Weck (Global Head of Parts Production), Vinod Shetty (CEO, Flender India), and Pandu Chillakuru (CFO, Flender India), alongside plant heads Boopathy R and Jayaseelan Janakiraman.

In addition to supporting Flender's sustainability goals, the new facility is expected to catalyze regional development by creating new jobs, attracting ancillary industries, and fostering a skilled local workforce. The company stated that the expansion represents a significant investment in a more sustainable future, one gear at a time.
