August 2026 : Hyundai Motor India Limited has recently named Mukundan MS as Chief Manufacturing Officer. With over three decades in the automotive sector, he has been steering Hyundai’s core production machinery with a sharp focus on operational agility, supply chain precision, and digital transformation.

As Hyundai accelerates its smart mobility and green manufacturing vision, Mukundan’s blend of strategic foresight and shop-floor expertise will be pivotal in driving the automaker’s next phase of growth.

Mukundan’s career trajectory is a textbook study in manufacturing mastery. He launched his career at Lakshmi Precision Tools Ltd. before joining Hyundai Motor India Ltd., where he spent over 28 years scaling through the ranks - from Press Shop Engineer and Planning Department Head to Vice President and Production Function Head.

Mukundan holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Bharathiar University, an MBA in Operations Management from ICFAI, and diplomas from IGNOU and the Indian School of Labour Education. His commitment to continuous learning is underscored by executive programs at The Wharton School, IIM Calcutta, IFMR Graduate School of Business (Korea University), and the KPMG Independent Directors Programme.
