February 2023: IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation, IIT Indore recently developed a multi-strategy scheduling web service for automated production scheduling in a job shop environment in collaboration with AceMicromatic MIT (AmiT). A beta version of the tool was jointly presented by the collaborators at the AceMicromatic pavilion at the IMTEX 2023 trade show held at Bangalore. The technology was developed under the guidance of experts from IIT Indore and IIT Bombay and the primary goal of this tool is to provide a complete and innovative solution for the Job Shop Scheduling Problem appropriate for MSMEs.

When viewed through the lens of industrial operations, the Job Shop Scheduling Problem (JSP), is regarded as one of the most challenging manufacturing problems in the literature. Under Industry 4.0, automatic scheduling must be achieved based on data of available machines, their capabilities, and parts to be made, considering current loading. Other constraints such as penalty for not being able to ship etc. are also considered. The tool developed by the cohort provides a comprehensive, responsive, and effective solution for diverse Job Shop scenarios and offers effortless job scheduling by employing various heuristics/metaheuristics for solving problems considering one or more performance measures under diverse industrial scenarios.

IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India is involved in commercializing academic innovations with industrial and startup partners to provide new age technological solutions for the country. It supports startups financially and technically, along with provision of pilot opportunities through its industrial partnerships to aid the development of new technologies. IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation is open to collaboration with industries, academicians and startups working in the domain of Cyber-Physical Systems.
